Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 103

Hey!!
Well, I made it! These have truly been the best two years, I can't believe that is almost over now. The time went by so fast, and this was definitely the longest/shortest week ever! We had a good week, I am happy with what I have done here. You should be getting my bike tomorrow. President Mansell is cool, he is a pretty funny guy. He has really changed up the mission, its going to be a big transfer in a few days, so it is interesting to see what is going to happen in the mission because of it. We had a good week this week, we were able to find more people, and have a lot of return appointments. I feel like I'm ready to go home but still nervous about it at the same time. so, hahaha, I guess we will see how it goes! See you in a few days! :)

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 102

Hey!
This week was okay, not that much happening, but we did meet some really cool people- Lauren and Eric. So last week we met Lauren, we knocked on her door and she came out and started thanking us which we thought was a little weird so we were just like "umm, your welcome?" Then she explained that earlier that day, she let her dogs out, and the gate was open, and she fell asleep. So with us waking her up, she saw the gate was open, luckily the dogs stayed in the yard though. So we talked with her for a little more, and she said that we could come back next week, so we did and this time we meet, Eric, Lauren's boyfriend. He told us that Lauren told him about us, and thanked us. He explained that she is going through a hard time right now, and was glad for people like us sharing a message about hope. He said that they didn't go to church and wasn't sure if God existed or not, but really wanted to learn more. So we were able to give him a Book of Mormon, and left him with some scriptures to read, and he said that he would share them with Lauren. So that was a cool miracle that happened this week. Fourth of July was a fun p-day, the whole district and some other missionaries had a little party at the church, so we all brought food and played games the whole time! :) The rules President Mansell gave for the 4th, weren't very fun... we had to be home at 9:00, and spend the time after p-day (in the afternoon) proselyting, but of course we didn't see anyone, because no one is home! But on a good note, I was able to see a few fireworks from the apartment! :) We are meeting the new President tomorrow, and I'm getting ready... I'm going to take apart my bike today, so I'm slowly getting there!

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 101

Hey!
So not that much happened this week, we were able to find a few more people in the city to teach so that is good! I can't believe I pretty much have 2 weeks left, the mission has gone by so fast! I don't know if you remember Tracy from Del City, but yesterday, we are going tracting, and we picked a random place to start. Then I feel that we should try one of the less actives, so we try him and he doesn't answer. So we try some of the neighbors, welllll, we knock on this door, and guess who answers? Tracy! He gives me a hug and tells me how much he has missed me. He is staying the week in Edmond with his mom, then going back to Del City. But ya, it was so cool to see him again! And we got his phone number and told him to call us, when he is back in Edmond, so he could go to church with us then. :) Tracy has some mental problems, but he kindest guy ever! He loves the missionaries, so he couldn't wait to go back to Del City and tell the missionaries there that he saw me!

Edmond Oklahoma- Week 100

Hey!
This has been a hot week, we have been outside a lot tracting! At the beginning of the week, we were finding a lot of people, we started trying to tract in the late evening, and so far that was the best time to do that. So at the beginning of the week, we found 4 new people, only later we sadly found out that we weren't in our area... so we gave the other elders a lot of referals for them to teach. We got a baptismal date that we are excited for! The highlight of the week was two things, one was-do you remember Melody? she was my first convert- well, I got to go with her when she went to the temple to get endowed!!! She was so happy! It was great to see her again, that event right there, just made the entire mission worth it. I was soo happy that I was able to be with her for that. We also we had stake conference, and bishop Causet, was there, he is the presiding bishop of the church! So we got to meet him and talk to him for a little. It was really cool!

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 99

Hey!
So not that much happened this week, it was a slower week. We taught a few lessons, but for the most part it was a lot of trying to see people and they weren't home. It is pretty humid today, its in the 70's with 90% humidity, so it feels hot outside! Sorry for the short emails! We did  a lot of tracting with week, so knocking on doors. Not much else is new.

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 98

Hey!
So my new companions name is Elder Mickelsen, he has been out for about 17 months, so we both have been out for a while. This week we have seen so many miracles, we were able to find a lot of new people to teach, and we had to give a few of the people that we found to the university sisters because all people between 19-26 go to them, so that was sad, because they were pretty awesome! So we should be teaching a lot of people this next week! Love you

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 97

Hey!
So first thing, I'm staying here in Edmond, Elder Ricks is getting transferred to Lawton, so it's sad to see him go, this transfer truly flew by! I wish we would have spend longer together. My new companion is Elder Mickelsen.  This week was great! We were able to have some good lessons this week, met a lot of people. Oh and something cool- President called us and wanted us to give someone a blessing in the city, so we went down there and it turns out the person is closely related to Elder Ricks, small world! We had a movie night at the church and we watched the Saratov Approach, that is a awesome movie! Our investigators enjoyed it! We also had a miracle last week, one of the people that we are teaching is atheist, and then just last week, she told us that she believes in God now!!! So we are excited for that :)
Guess who I found this week? Do you remember Garret? I taught him in Blanchard- he now lives in Edmond!
